Thanks to local farmer Louise G., the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania was selected as a 2016 America’s Farmers Grow Communities winning organization. Second Harvest has received a $2,500 donation from the Monsanto Fund. Since we able to obtain $17 worth of food for every dollar we receive, this grant will help us provide $42,500 worth of food to local families in need.
America’s Farmers Grow Communities recognizes the important contributions farmers make, and partners with them to support local nonprofit causes. Since the program began in 2010, more than #22 million has been directed to nonprofits across America. Grow Communities is one program in the America’s Farmers community outreach effort, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.
