First Annual Empty Bowls
Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania
1507 Grimm Drive
Erie, PA 16501
Saturday, March 28th
12:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Empty Bowls will serve up a simple meal of soup and bread as a reminder that too many people throughout our region are facing hunger with “empty bowls.” With the price of admission, guests will enjoy a selection of 11 delicious flavors of soups from The Cork 1794, Molly Brannigan’s, Skunk and Goat, The Brewerie at Union Station, Ambassador Banquet & Conference Center, Presque Isle Downs & Casino, Wegmans and Whole Foods Co-op. Guests will also enjoy freshly baked bread from Giant Eagle and cookies donated by Tasty Bakes. The event will also feature live entertainment by Mambo.
More than 400 handmade bowls were donated from the Edinboro Clay Club, Mercyhurst University, Claytopia, Neighborhood Art House, Erie High School, Fairview High School, Erie Clay Space, Allen Stoneware, Mercyhurst High School, Collegiate Academy, Main Street Art and Campbells Pottery. All guests in attendance select a hand-made bowl to take home as a reminder that many of our neighbors need our help to fill their “empty bowls.”
If your business or organization would like to purchase an Empty Bowls Program Ad, please contact Special Events Coordinator, Andrea Velez, at avelez@nwpafoodbank.org or 814-459-3663 x 113 by February 29th.
