The 29th annual Bread Box Awards luncheon will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, October 18th at the Second Harvest Food Bank. The event will recognize the numerous organizations, businesses, schools and individuals that have organized fundraisers and food collections to benefit Second Harvest.
Finalist Awards are presented in nine categories: Elementary School, Middle School, High School, College/Technical School, Individual, Church, Organization, Small Business and Large Business. Awards are based on points earned for creativity, community awareness of hunger issues, and amount of food or funds collected.
The recipient of the main award, an actual bread box engraved with the winner’s name, is selected from the first place category winners. This overall winner will be announced at the end of the luncheon, between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Awards will be presented by Karen S. Seggi, executive director of Second Harvest, beginning at noon at the Food Bank – 1507 Grimm Drive in Erie.
