Second Harvest is launching a new Produce Express Distribution at the Second Harvest warehouse located at 1507 Grimm Drive, Erie, PA. on Thursday June 4th starting at 2:30 p.m. You must pre-register to participate. This distribution is ONLY for those who are newly in need of food assistance and do not currently attend one of Second Harvest’s existing Produce Express food distributions-if you already attend an existing Produce Express, continue to go to your scheduled distribution. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! Please call (814)459-3663 x 117 to register. Food will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis.

Extra safety measures are being taken by Second Harvest to ensure the health and safety of those involved. Our staff will only load food items into the trunk of the vehicle during the distribution, and not inside of the vehicle. We ask that clients keep the trunks of their vehicles as empty and as clean as possible. Food will be distributed in a no-touch, drive-thru format. Those receiving food need to be in a vehicle as the driver or a passenger. Second Harvest encourages as few people inside the client’s vehicle as possible. Everyone inside the vehicle MUST wear a mask or face covering during the duration of the distribution. If anyone inside the vehicle is not wearing a mask or face covering, they must pull their vehicle over to a designated side area and load the food items into the vehicle themselves. Social physical distancing, and the overall safety of our staff, volunteers, and clients is of the utmost importance during these dangerous and difficult times.

About the Produce Express

By making fresh, healthy produce available to those who normally would not have access to it, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania and our partner agencies are working to encourage the community to eat healthier and make better nutritional choices. The Produce Express program delivers a truckload of goods to provide eligible families with 25-50 pounds of nutritious food, free of charge. When available, Produce Express trucks also include other grocery items and non-food essentials.
