Children are often looking for a meal and a safe place to go after their school day ends. Through The Child and Adult Care Feeding Program (CACFP), the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania sponsors two programs that provide meals to children in after-school programs.

Kingsley Kids Café

Location: Kingsley U.M. Church, 913 Cranberry Street, Erie, PA

Hours: Monday-Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Details:  Supper is served from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.  Crafts, games and homework help are provided.  For more information or a complete schedule, please check with the church at 814-459-3205.

Little Italy Kids Café

Location: Trinity Center, 462 West 18th Street, Erie, PA

Hours: Monday-Friday from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Details:  Supper is served from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.  Children’s programming is provided.  For more information, please call 814-453-2468.

 

For both programs, admission is open to all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

The CACFP is a program of the Food and Nutrition Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  The CACFP provides aid to child and adult care institutions and family or group day care homes for the provision of nutritious foods that contribute to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children, and the health and wellness of older adults and chronically impaired disabled persons.  Through CACFP, more than 3.3 million children and 120,000 adults receive nutritious meals and snacks each day as part of the day care they receive.
